Spend a weekend learning skills necessary to survive overnight in the wilderness! Learn to build a fire, identify and harvest plants, and sleep in a shelter you build yourself. Learn outdoor safety and make tools, baskets or rope.
Wilderness Survival Overnight teaches survival skills and allows participants to participate in some of the following activities:
• Make friction fire kits
• Cook over open fire and coals (conditions permitting)
• Sleep in a natural shelter they build
• Identify and harvest wild edibles
• Craft tools, baskets or rope
• Learn the safe use of knives as tools
Our objective is to help youth cultivate a love for the outdoors, teach them to care for the outdoors through Leave No Trace, and equip them the skills they need to be safe and successful in the wilderness through compassionate educators who encourage each child's respect for self, others and nature with experienced professionals.
